Places to see in USVI St. Thomas (according to AJ):
Magens Bay: is an obvious choice. Beautiful beach with USFS protections, so it stays nice.
Sapphire beach: is also nice. There is a big resort/bar there and the beach is public (like all beaches in USVI)
Coki beach: is more of a local beach but a good place to pick up pot if you are into that sort of thing.
Scuba: I recommend the Coki Dive Center.
You can let Peter know I sent you.
He has shore dives that are super inexpensive and cool and also offers excursions.
Calf and Cow was my favorite boat dive.
Groceries:
Moe's in red hook is your best bet and where you are most likely to find food you "recognize".
Otherwise, you are at the mercy of what is in stock.
There is also one down town but that will depend on where the VRBO is.
Cruise: Depending on your schedule, there is a Sunday Funday Cruze that happens out of Bolongo Bay.
We did this at least 3 times while we were there.
Lots of fun because it mingles with new people....
Notable Restaurant: All you can eat shrimp night on Thursdays at Mims seaside Bistro
Gringos: is also on St Thomas
-
Places to see in BVI (according to AJ):
White bay on Jost Van Dyke: This place is what dreams are made of.
- Get a Boom Boom Bushwacker from Soggy Dollar or One love if you would like some mushroom therapy...
- Our friend owns Hendo's Hideout which we loved. If you happen to go and see Aaron Henderson, please say hello from Heather and I.
The Baths: on Virgin Gorda are a must see. Kind of remarkable to walk through some really cool geological features.
-
Places to see in USVI St. John if we go there (according to AJ):
Maho Bay Beach: the best snorkeling with turtles that you will find.
So many turtles!
Bring your own gear or rent in the cruz bay area before heading over to this beach in a cab.
There is a little island style cafe in the area but definitely more remote.
Honeymoon Beach:
A nice little walk from Cruz bay and the quintessential white sand beach.
Cinnamon Bay Trail/Ruins:
Pretty cools old ruins.
Check for the Rum Bay tree and pick a few leaves.
(Dark green colored waxy leaf that is super fragrant when crushed.)
Reef bay: has a loop that is awesome but not for the faint of heart, if you are up for a more ambitious hike
Cocktails and Ceviche: The Longboard
Gringos Mexican Food: very yummy
